Playing the Game
How do I play Word Meadow?
Drag your finger across the letters to spell a word, then lift to lock it in. Every word you find blossoms into place on the board. Find them all to complete the level and open the path to the next meadow.
I'm stuck on a level. Any tips?
Look for the short words first — they often reveal the letters you need for the longer ones. Prefixes and suffixes (re-, un-, -ing, -ed, -er) are worth trying on their own. And if you'd rather not brute-force it, spend a hint: that's exactly what they're there for.
What are Honey Drops and hints?
Honey Drops are the in-game currency you earn as you play. You can spend them on hints when a level has you stumped, and on costumes and Meadow scenes to make your garden your own.
Can I make the game easier or harder?
Yes. In Settings you can change the difficulty, and also adjust the board letter size if the tiles are hard to read. There are no timers in Word Meadow — you can take as long as you like on any level.
Progress & Purchases
How do I save or restore my progress?
Your progress saves automatically on your device. If iCloud is turned on, your save also syncs through Apple's iCloud storage, so it survives reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone or iPad — just sign in with the same Apple ID. Game Center scores and achievements sync separately through your Apple ID.
I switched devices and my progress didn't come across.
Check that iCloud is enabled on both devices (iOS Settings → your name → iCloud), that you're signed in with the same Apple ID, and that the new device has been online at least once since installing. If it still hasn't appeared, email us before you play too far on the new device and we'll help.
How do I restore a purchase I already made?
Open the in-app store and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to the Apple ID that bought them, so make sure you're signed in to the App Store with that account.
How do I get rid of the ads?
The Remove Ads in-app purchase turns off ads permanently. Optional rewarded ads — the ones you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward — stay available if you want them.
I bought something and it didn't unlock.
Try Restore Purchases in the in-app store first. If that doesn't do it, email us with the date of the purchase and we'll sort it out. Refunds themselves are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Troubleshooting
The app crashed or isn't working properly.
Force-quit and reopen the app first — that clears most hiccups. If it keeps happening, check the App Store for an update, then restart your device. Still stuck? Email us with your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing when it crashed.
How do I turn the daily reminder off?
The daily play reminder is optional. Turn it off in the app's Settings, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Word Meadow.
The music or sound effects aren't playing.
Check the sound and music volume sliders in the app's Settings, make sure your device isn't in Silent mode, and confirm the volume is up. You can also pick a different background track in Settings if one isn't to your taste.
The animations make me a bit queasy.
Turn on Reduce Motion in the app's Settings. Word Meadow also respects the system-wide Reduce Motion setting in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Motion.
Privacy & Safety
What data does Word Meadow collect?
Almost nothing leaves your device. We don't ask for your name, email, or an account, and we don't run a server. The one exception is advertising, which is handled by a third party and asks your permission first. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Is Word Meadow suitable for my family?
Word Meadow is a family-friendly word game with no chat and no user-generated content. That said, it is not directed to children under 13 and it does contain ads and in-app purchases — so if you're handing your device to a young player, consider using Screen Time restrictions for purchases. See our Privacy Policy for the specifics.
How do I report a bug?
Email support@grobegames.com with a description of the bug, your device info, and the steps to reproduce it. Screenshots or screen recordings are enormously helpful — and genuinely appreciated.
