We do not ask you for your name, email address, or any account. We do not run a server, and we do not receive your gameplay data. Almost everything Word Meadow knows about you stays on your device.
The one exception is advertising, which is provided by a third party and does involve data leaving your device. That is covered in its own section below, and you are asked for permission first.
Word Meadow is made by Grobe Games LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play Word Meadow on iPhone or iPad.
What Stays on Your Device
The following never leaves your device:
- Game progress — levels completed, stars, Honey Drops, hints, streaks, costumes owned and equipped, and which Meadow scenes you have restored.
- Settings — sound and music volume, chosen background track, haptics, Reduce Motion, difficulty, and board letter size.
- Gameplay analytics — the app keeps a rolling local log (most recent 500 events) of things like session start, level start and completion, words found, hints used, and store screens viewed. This log is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It exists so the game can show you your own stats. Deleting the app deletes it.
Information Handled by Apple on Your Behalf
These features are optional and are operated by Apple, not by us. We do not receive your Apple ID, your name, or your contact details through any of them.
- iCloud save sync. If iCloud is enabled on your device, your saved progress is synced through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so it survives reinstalling or moving to a new device. It is tied to your Apple ID and stored in your iCloud account. We cannot read it.
- Game Center. If you sign in to Game Center, the game submits your scores and achievement progress to Apple's leaderboards. Your Game Center identity is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID. We only learn that a purchase completed so the app can unlock what you bought.
Notifications
Word Meadow can send you an optional daily reminder to play. These are local notifications scheduled on your device. We do not operate a push server and we do not collect a device push token. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings, or in iOS Settings.
Advertising
Word Meadow shows ads, and this is the only part of the app where information about you leaves your device.
Ads are served by a third-party advertising network, AppLovin MAX. To show ads, and to measure whether they worked, that network may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow it — see below
- Your IP address, and coarse location derived from it
- Device and OS information such as model, iOS version, language and time zone
- Which ads you were shown and whether you interacted with them
We also use Apple's SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving attribution system that tells advertisers an install happened without identifying you.
Your Choice About Tracking
The first time it is relevant, iOS asks whether Word Meadow may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared and you will see less relevant ads rather than fewer ads. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If you buy Remove Ads, ads stop being shown — except if you choose to watch an ad for an in-game reward.
Children
Word Meadow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will address it.
How Long Information Is Kept
Information stored on your device stays until you delete it or delete the app. iCloud saves are kept in your iCloud account and are managed by you through your Apple ID. Data held by the advertising network is subject to that network's own retention policy.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, and to object to certain processing.
Because we do not collect or hold personal information about you ourselves, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete — removing the app removes the data. For information held by the advertising network, use the tracking control described above, and see that network's own privacy policy.
To ask us anything about this, contact us below.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how the app handles information — for example when we change advertising provider — we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
